We carried out specialist grouting works to Nordek turbine bases, located on Blary Hill Windfarm on behalf of I&H Brown. A high strength, non-shrink, free flowing grout was used to secure the turbine base plates and provide the required strength to meet the clients programme.

WORKS CARRIED OUT:

Each turbine was shuttered to ensure Nordeks base specification was met
6mm ply shutter was secured via bracing to the concrete turbine base and off-set from the base plate
Grout testing before each pour as per BS EN 13395-2 2002, to ensure the flowability met the minimum requirements
During each pour the workability of the grout was continually monitored to ensure a clean finish was achieved
Post-pour the turbine bases were covered to ensure the grout properly cured and cube tests were carried out at 3 day, 7 day and 28 day intervals
